Obituary

Johnny Ramirez, 83, of La Junta, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at his La Junta home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 8, 1941, in La Junta to Ysaac & Nazaria (Martinez) Ramirez. 

Johnny loved to stay busy with his hands. Whether it was working in the yard, working on his house, or working in the garage. He could fix anything and if he didn't know how he would figure it out. He met his wife Pauline working at the pickle plant. He then moved to the power plant and was there majority of his life where he eventually retired from. Johnny loved Jesus and his family and was always someone anyone could count on. He was barber to all of the boys. He loved to tell stories about the Bible and his life and everything in between. He loved his westerns and football. Always had a positive Outlook on life and when asked if he was doing good, he would say "I'm okay".

Johnny is survived by his children, Victoria Anderson; Regina Acosta; Jane Villarreal; and Juan Ramirez, Jr.; 9 grandchildren, Daniel Whatley; Kathryn Carson; Erika Whatley; Kristina Ruiz; Danny Lopez, Jr.; Alisha Medina; Andrew Salazar; Mariah Fernandez; and Alyssa Martin; 11 great-grandchildren, Aaron Whatley, Mario Ruiz, Diego Salazar, Jaden Bickel; Quianna Ruiz; Bryce Bickel; Jasiah Torres; Nico Ruiz; Jayla Fernandez; Jackson Martin; and Noah Fernandez; great-grandson, Elijah Medina; great-great-grandson, Masai Ruiz; siblings, Paul (Gloria) Simon, Lucy Coimbre, Lawrence (Jennie) Ramirez, Willie (Carol) Ramirez, Ernestine Ramirez, Vickie (George) Kahinu, Valentine (Mike) Goldstein,Virginia Ramirez;numerous nieces & nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Ramirez; his parents, Ysaac & Nazaria Ramirez.; son-in-law, David Villarreal; siblings, Eipefina, Paublino Ramirez, Petra, Natalio Ramirez, Nebas Ramirez, Silverio Ramirez, Ramon Ramirez, Sofia, Jose Ramirez, & Claudita.
