La Junta Police Report Precautionary Measures at La Junta Schools
La Junta Police Officers responded to the report of an altercation between and male and female near La Junta Intermediate School on Thursday Morning. As precautionary measures to a potential threat to public safety, East Otero (La Junta) School District activated a "hold in place" for La Junta Intermediate School.
Law Enforcement Officials with the La Junta Police reported that there is no active threat to public safety at La Junta Intermediate School.
According to LJPD, the male party fled on foot and was last seen in near Grace Ave. and the female party left in the black pickup truck pictured here.
Due to police activity in the area, Columbian Early Childhood Center CDS (La Junta Head Start) was placed on lock out, which has since been lifted.
