La Junta Fire Department VS Haystack Fire West of Swink

At approx 205am this morning we responded to a large haystack fire located between Rd 24 and Rd 23 and Rd BB west of Swink.

Currently still on scene, crews protected a couple other large stacks with the help from some local farmers and frontend loaders moving them away.

Mutual aid was requested from Rocky Ford and Manzanola Fire Dept.

LJFD said that smoke will be visable coming from west of Swink for the next few days from this large haystack fire that will continue to burn.
