Obituary

Cecelia Herrera, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, peacefully passed away at her home on October 27, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 79. Cecelia was born June 2, 1945 in Fowler. Cecelia was the daughter of Pedro and Aurela Flores. She graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1964, setting out on a life filled with love and laughter.

In 1965, Cecelia met the love of her life, Louie. The two married in 1967, beginning a union that would span over 57 beautiful years. Their life together was a testament to the power of love, and Cecelia’s devotion to Louie and their family was her greatest joy. Cecelia adored her family, cherishing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Cecelia loved meeting people and had a unique gift for making them feel at home. Not only was she a wonderful grandma to her grandchildren, but also to many others. She was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan, whether it was making a ton of burritos for wrestling or cheering them on at a sports event. Cecelia was always ready to share a laugh, play a joke, or make a memory. She filled every room she entered with joy and lightheartedness. Cecelia’s love, laughter and kindness leave an enduring legacy. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.

Cecelia is survived by her husband Louie Herrera, sister Lillian Aragon, brother Jerry Flores, 3 daughters: Karen (Rick) Long, Cindy Rodriguez, Carla Dominguez, 9 grandchildren: Tyler (Rachel) Long, Steven (Tabitha) Herrera, Ricky (Jennifer) Long, Raymond (Rylea) Rodriguez, Louis (Nicky) Long, Jacob Rodriguez, Kelly (Nathan) Hancock, Crystal Flores, Mia (Peppa) Herrera-Dominguez, 6 great-grandchildren: Noah Robinson, Ozzy Long, Milo Long, Cassius Long, Dylan Dickerhoff and Novaleigh Dickerhoff. She was preceded in death by her parents: Aurela and Pedro Flores, 3 sisters: Mela Valdez, Virginia Castro, Delphinia True, 6 brothers: Joe Flores, Sam Flores, Danny Florez, Richard Flores, Pete Flores, Raymond flores and her grandson Corey Long.

Visitation Held on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home. Rosary Service Held on Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 9:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Services Held on Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
