Obituary

Joy Elizabeth Gibbs, born on October 24, 1963, in Montpelier, Idaho, passed away peacefully in Castle Rock, Colorado, on October 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.

Joy dedicated over 30 years of her life to Empower, a testament to her unwavering work ethic and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others Her warm spirit and compassionate nature touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including skiing, indulging in retail therapy through shopping, taking long walks, and creating delightful baked goods for her family. Above all, Joy treasured the moments spent with her loved ones, who were always at the center of her world.

Joy is survived by her loving husband, BJ, who shared their home in Castle Rock; her cherished children, Jenae and Lucas; and her dear siblings, Sam (Michelle) Martson, Joanna (Kim) Roach, and John (Tiffany) Martson. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Her parents, Howard and Mary Martson, along with her beloved niece, Danielle Roach, have preceded her in death, and their memories will forever remain a part of her family's story.

A graveside service to honor Joy's life will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Ordway, Colorado, on November 5, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by a reception at The Crowley Community Heritage Center located at 3rd & Main Street; Crowley, Colorado 81033.

As we gather to celebrate Joy's legacy, let us remember her boundless kindness and the impact she had on our lives. Her love and spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.

Celebration of Life service will be held November 15, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Plum Creek Church in Castle Rock, Colorado with Pastor Doug officiating.
