Due to inclement weather conditions, CCSD will be CLOSED today Thursday, November 7th, 2024. All afternoon practices are canceled as well as the Junior High Boys Basketball game.

Due to the anticipated snowfall amounts possible tomorrow, school in Springfield will not be in session on Thursday, November 7, 2024.  JH Basketball with Holly will be rescheduled.  HS Knowledge Bowl will not go to Swink.  Conditions along Hwy 160 are uncertain and snowfall amounts west and on La Veta Pass are expected to be very high.  Determination about game time and leave time for Saturday's playoff football game are yet to be confirmed.  Information will be released as soon as possible.

Vilas School District RE-5 Announcement

Due to the incoming weather this evening and for tomorrow, Vilas School District RE-5 will have a Remote Learning Day on Thursday, November 7th.

Details:

Assignments: All teachers will send home assignments today for students to complete before Monday.

Availability: Teachers will be available by email for student support during regular school hours on Thursday.

Attendance: Students will be marked present upon submitting their completed assignments on Monday.

VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System

Due to weather conditions, VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System facilities will open 2 hours delayed on Thursday, November 7, 2024, to allow for road clearing and safer travel conditions. This delay will impact all VA ECHCS clinics, but emergency services at Rocky Mountain Regional (RMR) VA Medical Center will remain open.

The Burlington VA Clinic will be closed November 7th, 2024, due to road closures. 

VA staff will contact patients to reschedule in-person appointments prior to 10 a.m. Virtual appointments and scheduled surgeries will proceed as scheduled. 

The Clinical Contact Center is available to provide scheduling, nurse triage, pharmacy services and acute virtual visits. Health Administration staff, Pharmacy Technicians, and Registered Nurses will be available and can engage Veterans for virtual care with medical providers within the Clinical Contact Center, if needed. Town Hall for the Town of Ordway is Closed Due to Weather conditions on Nov 7, 2024.

Due to current and forecasted weather conditions, all Otero College CDS centers are closed today, Thursday, November 7. There will be no services for children. Staff will not report.

RFSD is canceling school for today, Nov. 7. The roads are questionable right now and it appears that they will only get worse today. We hope that the students enjoy their day off. Stay warm and be safe. We will look forward to seeing all of the students on Monday.

Lamar Community College Campus CLOSURE

Due to inclement weather, the Lamar Community College Campus will be closed November 7th. 

Drive only if it is absolutely necessary. If you must drive: travel in the day; don't travel alone; keep others informed of your schedule and your route; stay on main roads and avoid back road shortcuts.

Manzanola Schools are closed today due to hazardous weather conditions.  Our Veterans day program has been cancelled as well.  Stay warm and safe.

Las Animas City Hall will be delayed opening this morning. Tentatively, we will open at 9:00am. We will see how the weather does and may need to close for the day. City crews will still be out plowing. Stay safe and warm out there.

Due to inclement weather, Granada School will be on a delayed start today, 11/7/24. School will start at 10 AM. Staff please report at 9:45 AM. There will be no breakfast served.

Due to current conditions and expected weather there will be NO school in Kit Carson today, NOV  7th. Knowledge bowl for tomorrow has been cancelled also.

All court locations in Bent, Crowley and Otero counties are closed.

Valley-Wide Health Systems is Closed Due to Winter Weather Conditions. This does not affect The Regional Assessment Center (The RAC) which will remain open.

Due to ongoing weather issues and to make sure all patients and staff are safe; all High Plains facilities will be closed today.  You can still call for prescription refills and appointments.

The Bent County Extension Office is closed today, November 7th, due to weather.

Woodruff Memorial Library will be CLOSED TODAY & on a 2 hour delay tomorrow. STORY TIME is cancelled for Friday, Nov. 8.

SAGE Services in Lamar & Springfield will not be serving meals today.

Baca County Courthouse will close all offices that are currently open at 10am this morning. Please stay home and stay safe.

Rocky Ford City Hall Admin Office, the Utility Office and the Rocky Ford Public Library are closed.  Trash routes will not run today, Nov. 7, 2024.  Conditions will be assessed tomorrow to see if trash routes will run. The Town Hall Meeting to discuss the Sewer Improvement Project has been postponed to a future date and time.  Adult Coed Volleyball has also been postponed.

EVENT CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING, CELEBRATION, SANTA FE TRAIL, BENT'S FORT CHAPTER

The Bent’s Fort Chapter regrets to announce the cancellation of our event scheduled for November 9th, which was intended to celebrate 30 years of our dedicated efforts in exploring and preserving the Santa Fe Trail. We sincerely appreciate all the stories and feedback we have received regarding this upcoming event. Please be assured that we are committed to rescheduling this significant celebration at a time when it is safe for our members to attend. Although this delay is disappointing, we look forward to a wonderful celebration in the future.
