Vincent Alexander Asebedo Sr. was born on January 22, 1971 in Garden City, Kansas to Lucio and Anita (Torres) Asebedo. He passed away on February 10, 2026 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas at the age of 55.
Vincent grew up and attended school in Garden City, embracing the values of hard work and family that would define his life. Although he did not complete formal schooling, he possessed an unyielding drive and an innate talent that guided him through life's journey. From a young age, Vincent worked alongside his father as a welder, learning the intricacies of the trade and the importance of precision and craftsmanship. In 2007, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish V&R Asebedo Welding, a successful business that stood as a testament to his skill, perseverance, and the dream he so passionately pursued.
Beyond his work, Vincent's life was one full of music, nature, and family. As a guitarist, he found joy in sharing his musical talents with his church community, where it lifted spirits and brought people together. Music was a cherished legacy for Vincent, inherited from his father and passed down to his own children through a shared love for the art. Vincent's appreciation for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing, a pastime that allowed him to connect with family and nature. He also had an adventurous spirit, finding solace and excitement in traveling to new places, always eager to explore the world beyond his doorstep. Above all, Vincent cherished his family. They were his pride and joy, the center of his universe. His unwavering love and dedication to his loved ones were evident in every aspect of his life.
Vincent is survived by his wife, Laura Branch (Guebara) of Garden City, Kansas; children, Liberty (Michael) Sanchez of Colby, Kansas, Celine (Ricardo) Montiel of Deerfield, Kansas, Vincent Asebedo Jr. of Garden City, Kansas, Raymond Asebedo of Garden City, Kansas, and two sons from a previous relationship; five grandchildren, Elianna Asebedo, Dianna Sanchez, Anaiah Lucero, Ayden Hernandez-Asebedo, and Aria Hernandez; three bonus grandchildren, Andrew, Jeremiah, and Milani Montiel; ten siblings, Pete Asebedo, John Asebedo, Louis Asebedo Jr., Jason Asebedo, Nancy (Fidel) Martinez, Matthew (Lupita) Asebedo, James Asebedo, Ezekiel (Noemy) Asebedo, Daniel Asebedo, and Esther Asebedo; many other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Anita Louise Asebedo.
A Funeral Service for Vincent Asebedo Sr. will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2026 at Templo Emmanuel Asamblea de Dios in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Fidel Martinez and Sylvia Cardozo officiating. Visitation will take place at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the church. Per Vincent’s request, cremation will take place after the service and inurnment will be at a later date.
