Two Arrested in Connection With Lascar Wildfire in Huerfano County

With information obtained during the course of the criminal investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for two individuals that were named as responsible for the Lascar Wildfire that occurred on February 24th 2026.

Yesterday March 3rd Collin Bates and Jana Dunn were both taken into custody by the Huerfano County Sheriff's Office on the following charges: CRS 18-13-109 Firing Woods or Prairie F6, CRS 18-4-501 Criminal Mischief F5, CRS 18-4-103 2nd Degree Arson F5, CRS 18-4-105 4th Degree Arson F5, and CRS 18-4-504 3rd Degree Trespass a petty offense.

This is still an active investigation.

All Parties Considered Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.
