Correction on preliminary information
(DENVER, COLO) - This is an update and correction on the crash events that took place on April 4, 2026, at approximately 3:42 a.m. on northbound I-25 at East 58th Avenue.
Updated information from the ongoing investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Trax and a Mitsubishi Outlander were both traveling northbound on I-25. The Chevrolet drifted to the right, moved outside its lane, and struck the Mitsubishi side-to-side, going in the same direction. The impact caused the Mitsubishi Outlander to spin into a concrete barrier.
After the crash, the Chevrolet Trax stopped on the roadway, blocking the far left lane and the adjacent lane on northbound I-25 near East 58th Avenue (milepost 215). The 21-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Trax, a 30-year-old male passenger in the Mitsubishi Outlander, and the 49-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander were outside of their vehicles, checking for injuries and assessing damage to the Chevrolet Trax. A second crash then occurred when a Mercedes-Benz C43 struck the rear of the Chevrolet Trax, along with the 21-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Trax and the passenger of the Mitsubishi Outlander.
