Multi-agency chase leads to the arrest of a suspect out on multiple felony bond

On 04/06/26, the Lamar Police Department was conducting narcotics enforcement on locations in which prior information had been received regarding illegal activity.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop based upon observations of a vehicle related to an enforcement location near Maxwell Street. The vehicle fled from officers and upon evaluation of the circumstances present at the time, officers made the decision to continue the pursuit. The pursuit terminated near Hasty, Colorado. Upon termination of the pursuit, Juan Antonio Gallegos, 44 years of age, of Lamar, was taken into custody. 

Mr. Gallegos was on bond regarding a Pueblo case at the time of this offense. Some of the listed charges he was out on bond for include Felony Motor Vehicle Theft, Felony Trespass, Felony Theft, Felony Burglary 2, and Public Order Crimes, to include Habitual Criminal Offender X8 counts.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
