Legendary Rocky Ford Meloneer Wrestling Coach Mike Jurney Inducted into the Colorado High School Coaches Association 2026 Hall of Fame.

Mike Jurney, is the name synonymous with the very successful High School Wrestling program at Rocky Ford High School.  Jurney has led the Meloneer’s program for the past 35 years.  In that time period Rocky Ford teams has finished in the top-ten at the state tournament 25 times winning two team-championships and three runners-up.  

The Meloneers have had 34 individuals win state championships under Jurney’s tutelage. Five times Jurney has been named the CHSCA wrestling coach of the year and in 2005 he was a finalist for the NHSACA coach of the year.  

He was a coach for the CHSCA All State Games in wrestling in 2007 and 2022. In 2015 the Colorado Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame named Jurney the 2A/3A coach of the year.  

Jurney is a 1985 graduate of Moffat County High School and earned a degree from Adams State University in 1992.
