Bent County Deputies Arrest Wanted Suspect Brian Cazares After Bicycle and Foot Pursuit Near CoreCivic Facility

Deputies from the Bent County Sheriff's Office located Brian Cazares (DOB: 03/17/1997) riding a bicycle eastbound towards the Core Civic Prison Facility at the intersection of Sixth Street and Garfield Avenue. Cazares had multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants from the Bent County and Otero County Combined Courts.

Cazares fled from law enforcement on the bicycle, and a brief foot pursuit ensued. With assistance from the Bent County Sheriff's Posse on ATVs and horseback, deputies established a containment perimeter around a small field southeast of where Cazares was last seen. Deputies located Cazares and took him into custody without further incident.

The Bent County Sheriff's Office thanks all of the volunteers from the Posse for their time, additional resources, and commitment to making Bent County a safer place.

All parties considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
