US Highway 50 Closed Near Mile Marker 266 in Fremont County After Vehicle and Grass Fire

Description: Highway 50 near mile marker 266 in Fremont County is closed after a vehicle fire spread into a grass fire. Eastbound traffic is diverted at Copper Gulch Road and westbound traffic at Highway 9. Officials expect the closure to last about two hours.

Highway 50 Closed Near Mile Marker 266 Due to Vehicle and Grass Fire
Fremont County HIGHWAY 50, Colo. — Highway 50 at mile marker 266 is currently closed following a vehicle fire that spread into a nearby grass fire, according to emergency officials.
Fire crews responded to the scene and have reported the fire is now under control. Crews remain on site conducting mop-up operations to prevent additional flare-ups and ensure the area is safe before reopening the roadway.
The highway is expected to remain closed for approximately two hours. Officials say updates will be provided as soon as Highway 50 reopens to traffic.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted at Copper Gulch Road
Westbound traffic is being diverted at State Highway 9
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes while emergency personnel continue operations.
