La Junta United Methodist Church to Install Historic Recognition Plaque May 31, 2026

Description: La Junta United Methodist Church will hold a brief plaque installation ceremony May 31 after Sunday service to celebrate its National and State Historical Status.

The United Methodist Church of La Junta received National and State Historical Status in 2025 and we held a Concert and Celebration in October as we were 'officially' presented with our historic recognition plaque. This Sunday, May 31 at around 11:30, we will be having a brief plaque installation ceremony following our church service and we invite you to attend. The plaque will be installed under our cornerstone at the corner of 6th and San Juan, by the marquee. Our service will be over at about 11:45 and we will have the ceremony at 11:30. 

We would love for you to witness and record this historic ceremony as we continue to recognize our beautiful and historic buildings, the legacy of the church, and the hard work and dedication of the Historic Preservation Team and the entire congregation.
