US 6 Reopened After a Head-On Crash
(GOLDEN, COLO) - On June 6, 2026, at approximately 4:23 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 6 near Tunnel 1. The crash involved a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Cadillac ATS.
The driver of the Hyundai and the driver and passenger of the Cadillac were transported to local area hospitals. The driver of the Cadillac has serious bodily injury. The extent of injuries for the Hyundai driver and the Cadillac passenger is unknown at this time.
The Colorado State Patrol is leading the crash investigation with no cause determined at this time.
Both directions of Highway 6 were closed for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. The roadway was reopened at approximately 6:16 p.m.
