Tri-County Family Care Center Celebrates 20th Annual Cruisin’ Into Summer Festival in Rocky Ford

Description: Tri-County Family Care Center’s 20th Annual “Cruisin’ Into Summer Festival” and “Keep Kids Safe” Fair brought more than 500 people to downtown Rocky Ford on June 6, 2026, featuring a car show, kids games, safety booths, live entertainment, contests, sponsors, and community activities.

Tri-County Family Care Center (TCFCC) had their 20th Annual “Cruisin’ Into Summer Festival” & “Keep Kids Safe” Fair, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Rocky Ford with over 500 people attending.   

Rocky Ford Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Water Safety Booth and sold burritos all day. Kenny Arguello was the Emcee and Trent Ryan, Ark Valley Entertainment was the DJ. Entertainment included Kristin Golden singing, Rick Schlegel had Karaoke with multiple community singers, and Vince Graham sang. Performances were by: Gold Canyon Gunfighters Reenactment from Colorado Springs and UC Lifeline helicopter landed in City Hall parking lot for people to interact with the crew. 

Kids Games Hula Hoop Winners: 1st round – 1st place - Merced Luna; 2nd round – 1st place – Xrislynn Burga; 3rd round – 1st place – Sophia Curry. Jump Rope Winners: 1st round – 1st place – Madyson Kennon, 2nd round – 1st place – Hope Casiano. Baby Walker Race Winners – 1st round winner – Rosa Hillyer, 2nd round winner - Nova.  Kid’s Games sponsors were Pepsi Beverage Company, Rocky Ford Food Market, BZ Events & Rocky Ford Fire Department.

Our “Got Wheels?” car show winners were: People’s Choice – Steven Trujillo, Hot Rod – Dominic Gauna, Customized- John Ebert, Low Rider – Danny Whatley, Classic – Harold Donisthorpe, Original – Cordon Berry, Motorcycle – Richard & Shayla Vasquez, 4-Wheel Drive – Jimmy Whatley. Car Show sponsors were Ruby’s Auto Body, Absolute Automotive, NAPA/Valley Auto Parts, Perkin’s Motors, H & R Tire, La Junta Trading, Ruben’s Auto Body Shop and Valley Tire Auto Sales.  Our People’s Choice winner Steven Trujillo received a wooden chainsaw carved Car w/clown driving trophy provided by Wooden Marvels Chainsaw Carving, LLC.  Rocky Ford Fire Department received a wooden chainsaw carved Dalmatian Dog w/firemen’s helmet trophy provided by Wooden Marvels Chainsaw Carving, LLC., as an appreciation for all their hard work in the community.

The Main Lounge sponsored the beer garden and the cornhole tournament. With 8 teams, the winners are 1st place – Danny Chavez & Pancho Rey; 2nd place – Joe Vigil & Keith Benbow and 3rd place – Matthew Mendoza and Santino Mendoza. Congratulations guys!

‘Keep Kids Safe’ Fair drawing for the safety booths Bingo winner was Amaias Gonzalez for completing their Bingo sheet by visiting the safety booths.

“Super” Sponsors were: City of Rocky Ford, Black Hill’s Energy, Total Concept & UC Lifeline Helicopter.

The Grand Theater handed out free popcorn and a small drink to 173 individuals. 

Event insurance was sponsored by Van Dyk Insurance. 

The day’s festivities concluded with a Pie Eating Contest co-sponsored by TCFCC and Village Inn of La Junta. Following were the winners of the various age brackets 5-8 yrs.- Unknown, 9-17 yrs. - Abel Segura, and Adults – 1st – Duane Gurule & 2nd Gio Camacho.  We feel this year’s festival was a success and are making plans for next year’s event to be held on June 5, 2027.
