La Junta Senior Golf League Announces June 23 Scramble Golf Results

The La Junta Senior Golf League met on June 23 for a nine-hole round of scramble golf. One new player, Allen Winford, was welcomed.  Forty-seven golfers made seven teams of five golfers and three teams of four golfers. On four holes, each team had the chance to lower the team score by making an extra putt. Two challenge chips on holes #4 and #8 remained unclaimed. The challenge putt on hole #9 was different this week: if someone on the team did not make the putt, the team had to add a stroke to their score!  Eight teams were able to make the putt and prevent the penalty.

Next week is our Fourth of July celebration. We will have a par three course set up and CaSandra Thomas will bring a strawberry dessert to share after we play.  Dress in red, white, and blue and bring your flags! Registration will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with teams being picked at 8:45 a.m. No players can be added after this time. Play is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:00 a.m.
