La Junta Senior Golf League -

Tuesday, July 14, 2026

On July 14, the La Junta Senior Golf League played a 9-hole scramble on a course converted to a par-43 layout. There were seven par-5 holes and two par-4 holes. Forty-eight golfers were divided into ten teams and the competition was close. Only three strokes separated the first place and last place teams! The event featured a challenge chip on hole #5 (which no one made) and a challenge putt on hole #3 (made by Mike Bauserman and Sudi Stokes). Team #2—Joe McClain, Douglas Golding, Sudi Stokes, Albert Davis, and Shelly Grantham—won the straightest drive contest.

Next Tuesday (July 21) the league will meet for a round of regular scramble golf with an extra game on the chipping green. Registration will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with teams being picked at 8:45 a.m. No players can be added after this time. Play is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:00 a.m. Please call 719-469-0691 if you anticipate being late for registration but will be able to tee off on time.
