Semi Crashes Near Railroad Tracks on Highway 50 Near La Junta; Driver Transported for Medical Treatment

We responded to Hwy 50 and MM 376 at approx 743 am for a reported semi accident by the railroad tracks.

Upon arrival a semi pulling a flat bed trailer was off the roadway on the Northside sitting on its wheels with lots of damage approx 4 ft from the train tracks.

The trailer was sitting up against the truck.

The occupant got out on his own and was treated by EMS.

CSP Haz mat was called to assist with pumping off remaining fuel out of the leaking saddle tanks.

Train traffic was stopped while we were on scene. 

The crash is being investigated by Colorado State Patrol.

The occupant was transported to AVRMC.

OCSO assisted with traffic control.
