Edward “Eddie” Modesto Vigil, of Rocky Ford, Colorado, peacefully entered into rest in his home on August 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Eddie was born on December 13, 1950, in Rocky Ford to Lydia and Modesto Vigil. He was 75 years old.

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lynda Vigil; his sons, Eddie (Valerie Lobato) Vigil Jr. of Rocky Ford and Myron (Justina) Vigil of Rocky Ford; his grandchildren, Julian Vigil, Alissa (Alfred Mondragon) Ramirez, McKayla (Jermey) Kiefer, Leah (Devon) Gallegos, Lynae (Quenten Rivera) Vigil, Angelo (Jesvi Ramirez) Vigil, Adriana (Brandon Roque) Jaramillo, Myraya Vigil, Myron Vigil, Jr., Alivia Vigil, great-grandchildren, Neveah, Aubrianna, Winter, Izaiyah, Mariana, Luciano, A’laysia, Carson, Sadie, Gemma, Selena, Briana, & Ellieana. God sons, Enrique Vasquez, Jr., and Jason Encinias, sisters Henritta Vigil, Martha (Mario) Sienz, Ruby (Esequiel) Naveratte, and Lucenda Vasquez, He also leaves behind many relatives, friends, and loved ones who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lydia and Modesto Vigil; his son, Ronnie Montoya, granddaughters, Miriah Vigil and Genesis Mondragon; his sister, Maria (Dennis) Jacobsen, his brother, Leroy Vigil, brother in-law, Enrique Vasquez; niece, Tracy Saenz, Tiana Vasquez, nephew, Fabian Vigil, Dave Mondragon and Phillip Navarrete.

Eddie lived a life marked by hard work, devotion, humor, and love for the people around him. He married the love of his life Lynda, on April 13, 1973. He worked in auto body painting & doing body work, until his retirement and had a lifelong passion for cars, especially hot rods and lowriders. He enjoyed fishing, cheering on his Denver Broncos, caring for his yard, his home, & Lynda of course, playing cards and old-school video games with his grandchildren & gathering his family together whenever he could. Fair time held a special place in his heart, as he looked forward each year to the kids & grandkids bringing him the sweetest Rocky Ford watermelon, the turkey legs, and the time spent making memories with those he loved.

Above all, Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His greatest joy was his family, and he was blessed to know and love all of his grand, & great-grandchildren.

He will be remembered for the care he gave, the jokes & the laughter he shared, and the lasting love he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his family will carry his memory in their hearts forever. A Celebration of his life will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 29, 2026 at the Victorious Church in Swink. Pastor Daniel Blackwell will be officiating.
