The Pueblo County Coroner has identified the decedent from the single vessel accident on September 27, 2026, at Lake Pueblo State Park. The decedent is Corporal Stephen Biggs, an off-duty officer with the Pueblo Police Department. His body was recovered on September 28, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m.

The decedent’s next of kin have been notified.
 
The case remains under active investigation by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office. No further details are available at this time.
 
The Pueblo County Coroner's Office mourns the loss of Corporal Biggs and wishes to offer condolences to his family, fellow officers, and the community. We would like to thank Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Dive Team, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Drone Team, American Medical Response (AMR), Pueblo West Fire, Flight for Life, Marine Evidence Recovery Team (MERT), and everyone who assisted in the recovery effort.
 
The Pueblo Police Department will have Corporal Biggs’ patrol car parked in front of the Pueblo Police Department (200 South Main Street) for those wishing to pay respect to the fallen officer.
