🚨🚨SCAM ALERT🚨🚨

The Lamar Police Department has received reports on September 30th and October 1st of a scam call advising the party called that their children were being trafficked. The scam caller then demands financial consideration for their trafficked child/children. The last requested consideration was for $1500.00. It is encouraged to immediately disconnect the call and block any associated numbers.

Scams are constantly evolving with different scare tactics to try and put people in high-stress situations. These high-stress situations often result in compliance from their victims because threats of harm to loved ones or even arrest are enough to make most people comply. It is important to stop and question what is being told to you by these callers. Never provide details of your personal information, including any financial information, or your children's information.
