Otero Sheriff Reports on Search for Missing Rocky Ford Three-Year-Old

The Rocky Ford Police Department responded to a call reporting a missing three-year-old child at 10AM on Saturday,  May 18, 2024.

The Public Information Officer said the missing boy was last known to only be wearing a diaper and he is non-verbal.

The Otero County Sheriff's Office reported that numerous resources are being utilized in this active search including two search K9's, a Colorado Dept of Fire Prevention and Control Helicopter, and several drones.

The Otero County Sheriff's Office asks the public to stay clear of canal roads in the Rocky Ford Area as first responders need to use them in conducting the search.

Agencies assisting in the search include: the Rocky Ford Police Dept, the Rocky Ford Fire Dept, the Otero County Sheriff's Office, the Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Colorado Dept of Fire Prevention and Control, Manzanola Fire Dept, Fowler Fire Dept, Otero Emergency Management, La Junta Police Dept, City of Rocky Ford Public Works, Otero Land Use, 16th Judicial District, Catlin Canal, and Baca County.
