Obituary
Michael Scott Kerr, 60, of La Junta, Colorado, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, at Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born Wednesday, July 17, 1963, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Richard & Alice (Waterman) Kerr.
Scott graduated from Palo Verde High School in Tucson, AZ. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he worked as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist. After his service in the Air Force, Scott worked in a casino as a craps dealer and floor supervisor, as well as a registered respiratory therapist. Scott then went on to become a great restaurant owner. He was also a proud former member of Rocky Ford City Council and was a strong supporter of his local communities. He and Tracey also help sponsor many organizations and local sports teams through The Barista over the years. He was a great friend to all and will be dearly missed.
Scott is survived by his wife Tracy Kerr of the Rocky Ford home; daughter, Brandy Kerr of Ordway, CO; grandchildren, Sadie & Jackson Burgess, and Camille & Olivia Korinek; father, Richard Kerr of Kalamazoo, MI; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Sue Kerr, brother, David Kerr and infant brother,
Celebration of life will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta with Pastor John Dell of the First Christian Church of Rocky Ford officiating. Services conclude at the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Scott's name to First United Methodist Church of Rocky Ford Food Bank. Located at 301 West Washington Ave.; Rocky Ford, CO 81067.
