Recipient: Jade Sykes

Nomination Narrative: It is with great pleasure that I recommend Jade Sykes for this award.

Over the years I have had the pleasure of watching Jade grown from a preschool child to an exceptional young lady.  Jade is an outstanding individual who supports others, is honest, dependable, and is an all-around great person. She has a nurturing personality and always supports those around her. She is also exceptionally responsible and is always the first to volunteer to help out with any task.

Jade is a defender of others, there has been numerous times over the years that she has stood up for fellow students. Many times students are afraid to speak out for fear of retribution. This is not the case with Jade. She will stand her ground, and defend what and whom she believes in. She is the strong voice for anyone who doesn’t seem to have one. I think very highly of this young, bright and full of life young lady.

(The intention of the Communities That Care Youth Recognition Award is to acknowledge youth for their contributions to community outside of just athletics and academics and instead focus on some of the ways they make the world better.)
