During their regular public hearing the Otero County Commissioners approved their minutes from their previous meeting on June 13, 2022 as part of their consensus agenda items.

June 13th, 2022

Chr. Baldwin called the meeting to order and asked for approval of the Consent Agenda. The agenda contains: approval of the minutes from May 23rd, 2022, approval of bills and payroll for May 16th to May 31st, 2022. Co. Oquist motioned to approve the minutes and the consent agenda. Co. Hostetler seconded. Motion carried.

Otero County Preservation Officer, Rebecca Goodwin, along with Jesse and Kelsey Price, presented The Timpas School Nomination to the Board. The Otero unty Historical Association voted animously to add it the Otero County Historical Register. The school was built in 1916 with an addition put on in 1923. It meets criteria A and C because of its social and school requirements and because of the architectural elements. It is a very elaborate design for the age. The school was an integral part of the town, and at one time, it was Otero County School District 1. The Prices are planning to rehabilitate and remodel the building. They want to live in part of it and make an Inn out of part of it, eventually combining it into a ranch experience. Ms. Goodwin is asking to approve adding it to the register. Co. Oquist motioned to approve. Co.

Hostetler seconded. Motion carried.

Admin. White-Tanabe presented an Intergovernmental Agreement for Dispatch Services for ratification between the City of Rocky Ford and the Otero County Sheriff's Office. The Intergovernmental Agreement will allow the City of Rocky Ford to provide dispatch services to the Otero County Sheriff's Office. Co. Hostetler motioned to approve. Co. Oquist seconded.

Motion carried.

Clerk Scott presented a special liquor permit for the Danny Boy Foundation, Good Wood Festival. She asked for signature on the permit. Co. Oquist motioned to approve. Co. Hostetler seconded. Motion carried.

Clerk Scott wanted to remind everyone that the Clerk & Recorders Office will be closed for everything but elections on the 28th of June.

Admin. White-Tanabe presented that the RFP for the Detention Center will be published on Friday, hopefully. The grant for the security cameras in the courthouse will be funded at 100%.

Clerk Co. Oquist and the other commissioners went to the CCI conference. There were a lot of topics discussed. All in all, a busy week.

With no further business the Board adjourned the meeting.

Next meeting will be Monday, June 27th, 2022, at 1:30pm.
