Tammy Ridennoure Appointed to Otero County Historic Preservation Advisory Board

During their regular public hearing on June 27, 2022, the Otero County Commissioners Unanimously approved the appointment of Tammy Ridennoure to the Otero County Historic Preservation Advisory Board.

Ridennoure's Letter of Intent Follows:

Otero County Historic Preservation Advisory Board

Jill Manley and OCHPAB committee members,

After speaking with Rebecca Goodwin in early June concerning the work and projects that the OCHPAB have been involved in, I informed her that I would be interested in serving on this committee. I have been interested in history since the 6th grade. I was fortunate to have outstanding teachers throughout my education that helped fuel these interests in the social sciences and education.

I earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Curriculum degrees and currently hold a valid Colorado teaching license and Colorado administration license. Throughout my 24 years in the classroom I sought ways to make history relevant and interesting to all my students. Through hands-on lessons I could tie student’s personal history to the larger picture, helping to develop an understanding and appreciation for our history. As the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director I helped secure over $1.5 million dollars in grants to build a new all-weather track and field that sits at Rocky Ford Junior Senior High School. I also helped to over-see the planning and construction of the new facilities.

...Thank you for your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Tammy Ridennoure
