At 6:19 PM La Junta Police Officers dispatched to loaf and jug on report of a cut lock and missing cylinders of propane. Call Type: • THEFT - SHOPLIFTING

At 7:45 AM La Junta Police Officers dispatched to La Junta Mill and Elevator at 100 Smithland Ave. on the report of a stray animal. Call Type • ANIMAL CALLS - ANIMAL ORDINANCE VIOLATION • ANIMAL- LICENSE TO BE ATTACHED - ANIMAL-LICENSE TO BE ATTACHED • ANIMAL-DOG AT LARGE - ANIMAL-DOG AT LARGE

At 8:18 AM La Junta Police Officers Responded to the 1300 Block of Carson Ave. to a Burglary at the location. This case is still under investigation. Call Type: • BURGLARY - BURGLARY, FORCED ENTRY RESIDENCE

At 2:23 PM Officers took a report of an animal bite at the La Junta Police Department. Call Type: • ANIMAL ATTACK - ANIMAL ATTACK

At 2:29 PM Officers Dispatched to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center at 1100 Carson Ave. and took report of an animal bite. • ANIMAL ATTACK - ANIMAL ATTACK

January 10, 2023

At 11:12 AM La Junta Police Officers responded to the 300 Block of Maple Ave on a report of burglary and this incident will be documented. Only one item was removed from the shed and will be placed into the case file. Call Type: • BURGLARY - BURGLARY, FORCED ENTRY RESIDENCE

At 11:26 AM Officers were dispatched to a report of burglary and while on scene and through investigation the individual had confirmed warrants for his arrest. The male individual was placed in custody without incident. Call Type: • MISCELLANEOUS - WARRANT ARREST

At 3:25 PM Officers took a report of a possible identity theft and fraud in the 500 Block of Bradish Ave. The case is under investigation. Call Type: • FRAUD - IDENTITY THEFT

At 4:24 PM Officers took the report of a theft that occurred at Walmart on Conley Road in La Junta. The suspect, had been previously trespassed from Walmart and was issued a citation for burglary and theft. Call Type: • BURGLARY - BURGLARY, UNFORCED ENTRY NONRESIDENCE

At 7:52 AM the La Junta Police Department dispatched to the city shops located at 702 E. 5th St. and took a report on found property. Call Type: • FOUND PROPERTY - FOUNDPROPERTY

At 10:55 AM La Junta Police Officers responded to the 200 block of Steen Ave. on a trash complaint. Call Type: • OTHER ORDINANCE VIOLATION - ORDINANCE VIOLATION, OTHER • WEEDS/RUBBISH - WEEDS/RUBBISH

At 2:34 PM La Junta Police Officers responded to 3rd and Santa Fe Ave. on a stray animal report. Call Type: • ANIMAL CALLS - ANIMAL ORDINANCE VIOLATION • ANIMAL-DOG AT LARGE - ANIMAL-DOG AT LARGE

At 4:13 PM Officers responded to the 1000 block of Carson Ave. an a parking violation. Call Type: • TRAFFIC PROBLEM - TRAFFICHAZARD • NONUCR REPORTABLE - NONUCR REPORTABLE

At 6:49 PM Officers dispatched to the 400 Block of Hayes on a report of active domestic violence. Officers arrested a suspect. Call Type: • DOMESTIC PROBLEM - DOMESTIC VIIOLENCE

At 9:03 PM Officers were dispatched to a reported trespassing in the 300 Block of Maple Ave. Call Type: • NONUCR REPORTABLE - NONUCR REPORTABLE

At 9:21 PM Officers were transporting a suspect to the Sheriff's Office when the suspect slipped the cuffs and began running on foot. The suspect was caught after a brief foot pursuit and booked into the Otero County Sheriff's Office. Call Type: • ESCAPE - CUSTODY ESCAPE

January 12, 2023

At 2:42 AM Officers responded to a report of a noise ordinance violation. Officers found the source and determined they were in violation. Citation was issued. Call Type: • OTHER ORDINANCE VIOLATION - ORDINANCE VIOLATION, OTHER

At 4:22 AM at the intersection of E. 4th St. and Raton Ave. Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle came to a stop and the driver fled on foot. The suspect is unknown and the vehicle has been red-tagged. Call Type: • TRAFFIC PROBLEM - TRAFFIC, OTHER

At 4:59 AM in the 200 Block of Colorado Ave. Officers located a male party in the down town area during a consensual contact. He was taken into custody on outstanding warrants. Call Type: • MISCELLANEOUS - WARRANT ARREST

At 7:06 AM at Winter Livestock located at 30425 US HIGHWAY 50 Officers took the call of an assist motorist where vehicle was towed by PD. Call Type: • PUBLIC SERVICE - ASSIST MOTORIST

At 2:14 PM took a report of theft at the La Junta Police Department located at 601 Colorado Ave. Call Type: • THEFT - THEFT OTHER

At 3:00 PM Officers dispatched to Walmart located at 6 Conley Road on report of theft - shoplifting. Call Type: • THEFT - SHOPLIFTING

At 3:00 PM Officers dispatched to the East Otero School District Office located at 301 Raton Ave. to follow up on an existing investigation. Call Type: • FOLLOW UP INVESTIGATION - FOLLOW UP INVESTIGATION, LOCAL EVENT
