Closures and Delays Feb 15, 2023
From Las Animas School District: Due to the predictions of snow accumulation and high winds, the district will cancel school tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 15. This will also include JumpStart Learning Center Daycare.
Due to the incoming snow storm, Town Hall for the Town of Ordway will be closed February 15, 2023.
Due to anticipated inclement weather, all Otero County offices will be closed on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Due to anticipated inclement weather, the 16th Judicial District trial courts and probation will be closed Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Due to the forecasted weather conditions for tomorrow, Wed. Feb. 15, the Otero College campus will be closed. All classes and activities are canceled. This closure includes all students, staff and non-essential personnel. Classes and activities will resume on Thursday, February 16. as normal. Drive only if it is absolutely necessary. If you must: travel in the day; don't travel alone; keep others informed of your schedule and your route; stay on main roads and avoid back road shortcuts. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Walk carefully on snowy, icy walkways.
Bent County is operating on a 2 Hour Delay Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 15th, 2023. Further Updates will be Available Tomorrow at 8 am.
Due to predicted weather conditions for Wednesday, February 15, all Otero College Child Development Services Head Start and Early Head Start centers and Central Office will be closed. Staff will not need to report.
Swink School: NO SCHOOL TODAY, 2/15/23, due to the inclement weather that will be arriving today. PT conferences for tonight will be held NEXT Wednesday.

Bent County Public Health will be on a 2 hour delay 02/15/2023 - Weather conditions will be reevaluated at 8:00 AM. We will keep you updated.

Due to forecasted extreme weather conditions the Lamar School District RE-2 has cancelled school for Wednesday, Feb. 15th.
Rocky Ford City Hall will be on a 2 hour delay and will reevaluate at that time.
Due to anticipated weather conditions, CCSD will be on distance learning tomorrow, February 15, 2023. Students will be required to check into their Google Classrooms for attendance purposes. If students do not check in to each class, they will be marked as absent. CCSD staff will hold office hours to allow for further instruction if needed. Students needing further instruction will be required to reach out to their teachers via email or attend their scheduled office hours.
Delayed Opening: Wednesday 2.15.23 Due to the expected extreme weather conditions the Bent County Community Center will not open until 10:00am. If the conditions continue to get worse we may be closed all day. The After School Program will be closed 2.15.23

Manzanola School District will be on remote learning tomorrow, February 15, 2023 due to anticipated weather conditions. Students need to follow the instruction that was given to them by their teachers. Secondary students need to check into their Google classrooms for attendance purposes. Students needing further instruction can contact their teachers via email.

Cheraw School Dist: SNOW DAY TODAY, Wednesday, February 15. A light snow started to fall around 5am. However, it's quite windy and the forecast is calling for snow fall throughout the day. Wind and snow make a bad combination. No school today.
Rocky Ford School District is canceling school today, Wednesday, Feb. 15. The weather forecast is predicting extreme weather, snow and wind throughout the day. Please be careful if you have any travel plans. We hope that everyone remains warm and safe!

La Junta/Otero County Housing Authority Office will be closing at 10 am February 15, 2023 due to weather conditions.
Due to deteriorating weather conditions including heavy snowfall and strong winds that will continue through the end of the day, the Prowers County Commissioners have decided that all Prowers County Offices will close at 12:00 pm today.
Due to this week’s heavy snowfall and gusting winds, we are cancelling today’s VA resource fair and town hall for everyone’s safety. Our next resource fair and town hall in La Junta is scheduled for Aug. 16.
The City Complex, Lamar Public Library and Community Building are closed due to weather conditions. They are scheduled to resume normal hours of operation tomorrow. We will continue to update you if anything changes.
