Tri-County Family Care Center, Rocky Ford, Receives PepsiCo Foundation’s Community Impact Grant
Tri-County Family Care Center (TCFCC) has been named a recipient of a ten-thousand-dollar PepsiCo Foundation’s Community Impact Grant! The PepsiCo Foundation, the philanthropic arm of PepsiCo, invests in the essential elements of a sustainable food system with a mission to support thriving communities. Working with non-profits and experts around the globe, we're focused on helping communities obtain access to food security, safe water, and economic opportunity. We strive for tangible impact in the places where we live and work—collaborating with industry peers, local and international organizations, and our employees to affect large-scale change on the issues that matter to us and are of global importance.
Tri-County Family Care Center is one of 100 public charities and organizations across the United States and Canada awarded the $10,000 Community Impact Grant. Through strategic partnerships, such as the Community Impact Grant, the PepsiCo Foundation aspires to provide lasting change by tackling the challenges of inequality through access to economic opportunity, clean water, and food security.
“We look up to the community organizations that work tirelessly every day to ensure their neighbors thrive,” said C.D. Glin, President of the PepsiCo Foundation. “PepsiCo has a long history of working with local partners to invest in communities where our consumers and associates live and work. We’re proud to support these organizations in making lasting change.”
Tri-County agency has been in existence for 28 years and the Founder, Sarah Dillon, has been the Executive Director, throughout those years.
Tri-County Family Care Center has grown from serving 50 people the first year to an average of 600 people per year. Our goal is to assist people by not just giving them a “hand out,” but giving them a “hand up” to reach self-reliance.
LEGO “Building Trust” Contest (ages 5-8 yrs.) held at the 146th Arkansas Valley Fair on August 20, 2023.
Over the last 5 years, we have helped more than 3,000 people. Our impact is measured by not only how many people we served, but how those people were impacted. When we can move a family from crisis or vulnerable situations into a safe, stable, and thriving situation, we have been successful. Our biggest areas of impact were employment, housing, adult education, and transportation. The clients improving in these areas moved from an in-crisis or vulnerable situation to one that is safe, stable, or thriving.
We’re thrilled to have been named a recipient of a @PepsiCo Foundation Community Impact Grant! With this support, we will be able to continue our vision that “All families and individuals in our community are strong and self-reliant. Tri-County Family Care Center educates and empowers all families and individuals to gain stability through life skill programs, services, and support to maintain self-reliance.” We are extremely grateful for the PepsiCo Foundation and the individual, Leslie Romero, who nominated us for this award. This will help us to build family sustainability in Bent, Otero & Crowley counties.
Sarah Dillon, Executive Director, stated: “TCFCC offers resource and referral information, Bright By Three, Parent’s As Teachers home visitation & playgroups, Building Family Strengths program, Family Advocacy/Support Services, car seat Safety Program, as well as, other programs. We have been in existence for 28 years! This award will assist us to continue offering our multitude of programs and services. We have served over 11,500 people since 2000 and believe we are making a positive difference in our community.”
Thank you, @PepsiCo Foundation for awarding us with a Community Impact Grant to help us educate and empower all families and individuals to gain stability. We’re proud to join your efforts to advance equitable access to nutritious food, safe water, and economic opportunity.
