Fatal Crash On Highway 50 Near Las Animas

(Las Animas, COLO) On July 14, 2024, The Colorado State Patrol responded to a report of a single motorcycle crash on Highway 50 near milepost 400 at about 4:00 p.m. 

Troopers at the crash determined a 57 year old La Junta male had been riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Highway 50 when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the road and crashed. He was declared dead at the scene. 

Identification of the rider will be released by the Bent County Coroner's Office.  The details leading to the cause of the crash are still being investigated.
