Fentanyl Bust in Otero Courthouse Parking Lot Leads to Larger Bust
 
On 8-2-2024 at approximately 12:23 PM, a traffic stop was initiated in the Otero County Courthouse parking lot. While other Officers were investigating the stop, La Junta Police Department K-9 Oden was called to the traffic stop.
 
 
K-9 Oden gave a positive alert on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics.
 
A search was conducted on the vehicle, and Fentanyl was located inside of it.
 
Officers got a search warrant for the residence of 1100 Block of Bradish Ave., which stemmed from the traffic stop.
 
A large quantity of Fentanyl was recovered at the address. Andrea Guerra and Kurtis Aragon currently have outstanding $50,000.00 warrants for their arrests for the charges of Unlawful possession with the intent to distribute controlled substances (drug 1 Felony), two counts of (misdemeanor) child abuse, and two counts of violation of a protection order (misdemeanor).
 
We appreciate the assistance of the Otero County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation during this investigation. 
 
This is the second search of this residence in the last month and a half, and the suspects are the same ones from the June 17th search warrant.
