Poitrey Canyon Fire update 7am 4/30/26

The fire remains at 2,113 acres and 45% containment. Yesterday, cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity were reported across the fire, with the north side receiving precipitation. Fire activity was minimal and limited to interior pockets of unburned fuels.

Additional heavier precipitation is predicted Thursday afternoon through Friday morning, which should further reduce fire activity. Fire management officials are working to “right-size” the incident and are releasing unneeded resources, including all aircraft and heavy equipment.

There are currently 46 personnel working on the fire. There is no new map since the acreage and percent contained have not changed.
