(TELLER COUNTY, CO) - The Colorado State Patrol is releasing the following photographs of the two troopers involved in the shooting. Their names and start dates with the Colorado State Patrol are included below:

Trooper Clark Tinan has been with the Patrol since July 2016

Trooper Skylar Hoehn has been with the Patrol since January 2011
Trooper Clark Tinan sustained minor injuries; he was treated and released on August 25, 2026. Trooper Skylar Hoehn sustained serious injuries; he remains in the hospital and is doing well at this time.

(TELLER COUNTY, CO) - This is an update for the trooper involved shooting that occurred earlier this morning on Highway 24.
The trooper, with minor injuries, was treated and discharged from the hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
(TELLER COUNTY, COLO) - On August 25, 2026, at approximately 7:15 a.m., troopers were conducting a traffic stop on Highway 24 near milepost 286 (West of Woodland Park).
During the attempted traffic stop, the two troopers were shot. One trooper has serious wounds, and the second trooper has minor wounds.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. We will provide updates as they become available. We ask that motorists avoid the area during the investigation.
