Obituary for Patrick "P.J." Norman Mondragon, Jr.

Patrick Norman Mondragon, Jr. of La Junta, Colorado, entered into rest, September 11, 2018 at the Presbyterian-St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
He was born to Michelle and Patrick Mondragon, Sr. October 4, 1988 in La Junta, Colorado. He was 29 years of age.

P.J. is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Renae Mondragon of La Junta, Colorado, three daughters, Catherine, Denae and Nia Mondragon. Parents, Michelle and Patrick Mondragon, Sr. of La Junta, Colorado, sisters, MaLisa, Mariah, and Monica Mondragon all of La Junta, Colorado, grandparents, Joseph “Val” and Maria “Mable” DeLeon of La Junta, Colorado, and Alexandria Cruz of La Junta, Colorado, mother In-law, Dianna Rodriquez of Rocky Ford, Colorado, father in-law Severo Aragon, Jr. of Los Lunas, New Mexico, nieces and nephews, Ivan Terrones of La Junta, Colorado, Ezekiel Aragon of Denver, Colorado, Kayleigh Aragon of La Junta, Colorado, Zack Aragon of La Junta, Colorado, Ariella Aragon of La Junta, Colorado, Zakih Aragon of La Junta, Colorado.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Alfred Mondragon, great grandparents, Joe and Mary DeLeon, Pablo and Luz Martinez, Estefana Guerrero and Santos and Luz Mondragon. Father in-law, Wilfred Montoya, uncle Steven Mondragon, cousins, Isaiah Mares and Elijah Martinez.

P.J. was a 2007 graduate of La Junta High School. He participated in wrestling, football and he excelled in baseball. Baseball was his favorite sport, he was a pitcher, played shortstop and second base. He also had a passion for coaching. He coached Tee-Ball, Machine Pitch, Softball and Soccer. He loved coaching his daughter’s teams. P.J. Worked at Safeway, he was an Electrical Lineman for the City of La Junta, he also worked for Pat’s Moving Service with his dad. P.J. was very handy and helped everyone that needed help. Even in the middle of his illness he was always lending a helping hand. He and his wife Renae are members of the Upper Room Fellowship in La Junta. P.J. was loved by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service was held, 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 17, 2018 at the La Junta First Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Paul Simon officiated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Loving Care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
