Obituary

Agnes May Wills, 90, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Monday, June 21st, at her residence.

Agnes was born in Pueblo, CO on June 26, 1930, a daughter of the late Anne Margaret (Jacklich) and Cubb Delmar Orcutt.

She was the widow of Alfred Vernie Wills, they were married September 27, 1950 in Raton, NM.

Agnes graduated from Calhan High School in 1947.  After Alfred and Agnes were married  they traveled with Skelly Oil Company in their early years of marriage. They traveled with Skelly Oil Company in their early years of marriage. She and Alfred raised a family of seven children.  The family returned to Colorado and lived outside Calhan until their retirement.  During those years Alfred and Agnes enjoyed their time with a large extended family, dancing and riding horses. They relocated to Yoder, Co where they also spent time riding, gardening, dancing and watching grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren grow. In 2011 Alfred and Agnes moved to Rocky Ford to be closer to some of their children. They were active in the community where they spent time volunteering at the senior center.

Agnes worked many years as a clerk at the Calhan Post Office and served as the Postmaster in Yoder, Co. Agnes fulfilled a life-long dream to attend college when she received her Associates Degree in Accounting in 1989; she was 59.

Agnes was the Secretary/Treasurer for the Tri-County Fire Department.   She also enjoyed being an active member of the Rush Community Church, the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Calhan, the Kit Carson Riding Club and the Rocky Ford Methodist Church of which she was the Financial Secretary for a time.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing the piano. Her Large Family was a true source of joy for her. Agnes had a deep and quiet personal faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.
 
She is survived by daughter Ann, wife of Bill Jones, of Castle Rock, CO; daughter Alice Jones, of Phoenix, AZ; son Alan, husband of Julie Wills, of Whitesboro, TX; daughter Amy Smith of Tecumsah, OK; daughter Abby, wife of Leroy Mosher, of Rocky Ford, CO; daughter Alma, wife of Pete Aragon, of Rocky Ford, CO and son Andy Wills, of Calhan, CO  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. 
 
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Alfred; 2 brothers: Jack and Daniel Orcutt; 3 granddaughters and a grandson.
 
Funeral Services will be at 2:30 PM on Friday, June 25th at the First United Methodist Church in Calhan, CO with Pastor Steve Hicks officiating.  Interment will be in the Calhan Cemetery, Calhan CO.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to First United Methodist Church; 301 W. Washington, Rocky Ford, CO 81067 or VFW Auxiliary in Calhan, CO.
