Obituary

Charlene Bobbie Snyder, 96, passed away on July 14, 2021 at her La Junta home. She was born on August 26, 1924 in La Junta to Pete N. & Victoria J. (Mondragon) Garcia.
She married Warren Lee Snyder on September 9, 1945 in Raton, New Mexico; he preceded her in death on June 16, 2010.

Charlene, affectionately was known as grandma to everybody. Her pride and joy were her family, her children, grandchildren and many friends she considered family. She was a devoted caregiver to anyone in need. Her love could be shown through her food and she looked forward to every Holiday at her home where she made the best pies and was famous for her tortillas. She loved to camp and look forward to the yearly trip with her children and friends. Before her eye sight failed her she loved to yard sale and enjoyed visiting with all. Grandma will truly be missed by all but she is now flying high with angels and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Janice A. Whatley and Sylvia K. (Michael) Douglass all of La Junta; grandchildren, Brian Whatley, Sean (Cassandra) Douglass, Chris (Sarah) Douglass, Patricia Macias, Kimberly Warren, Levi (Sally) Dellinger, Marcos (Kayla Sandoval) Trujillo; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Garcia of Carlsbad, CA; son-in-law's, Lonnie Estep and Paul Trujillo; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughters, Victoria Warren, Karen Estep and Michelle Trujillo; son, Gary Snyder; two sisters and four brothers.

A Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Dell of the First Christian Church of Rocky Ford officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 19, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
