Obituary

This wonderful lady was born on December 28, 1934, in La Junta, Colorado. She was born again with Christ in 1980 here on earth and now has passed and has been born AGAIN in Heaven on December 18, 2021. Louise and Joe G. Arellano were her wonderful parents although her father passed when she was only ten months old. Having grown up with nine brothers and sisters, she is now survived by her older brother Ernie Arellano of La Junta and her older sister Dolores Mascarenas.

Lucia was a mother of four children; Teresa Ann Arellano-Morales who passed and rests in PA, Joe (Susie) Arellano of Pueblo West, CO., Paul (Krissy) Arellano (of Pueblo’s famous Love Mug) and Christelle (Ben) Wolfe of Pueblo West, CO.

She had the pleasure of having eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Robert Ralph Seamans II passed in May of 2011 and is watching over us with her in Heaven.

She loved being a Licensed Practical Nurse, having graduated from the Mennonite School of Practical Nursing in 1971. She retired from nursing and as Director of Medical Records in 1995. She was an active volunteer at Ten Thousand Villages. She loved and took the most joy in volunteering at the Arkansas Valley Pregnancy Center.

She loved arts and crafts. She won many a blue ribbon and a couple of Grand Champion ribbons from the Colorado State Fair and Arkansas Valley Fair. Her ceramics and her crocheted blankets were the talk of not only the town but also of the state.

She was an active member of the Upper Room Fellowship Church as well as the La Junta Baptist Tabernacle Church.

She was a lady of God, showing warmth, reverence, love, understanding, and openness. She was also one with stern warnings for those that would harm her family, including the devil himself. We know that she is happy now that she is at the right hand of God and is being hugged by all of our family’s souls that ran to greet her.

Los amo a todos con todo mi corazón. (I love all of you with all of my heart.) A la Luna y de regreso (To the moon and back.)

A memorial service will be Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Upper Room Fellowship with Pastor Paul Simon officiating.

Online condolences may be made at www.PeacockFH.com. Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
