Positive Covid Case In Fowler: Secondary Schools Closed 2 Weeks

From Fowler schools:

Today Fowler School District was notified of a positive test in our high school. The District has been working closely with the Otero County Health Department to determine our next steps. Current CDPHE protocol requires that close contacts of that student (students or teachers who share a class) be quarantined for 14 days from the onset of symptoms.  All of the close contacts who need to quarantine will be notified.

Quarantined students and teachers are to remain at home and may not attend school, any school activities, childcares, or other activities around other people. Students who do not receive a notification from the District are not considered close contacts and are not required to quarantine and may participate in school activities - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dM0ztOtDq0P2l8yVpegVuUJeEWq_uX2-/view

Due to the number of teachers who will be in quarantine, the District decided to move ALL Junior High & High School students to Remote Learning starting tomorrow, Friday, September 25.

All Junior High & High School students will return to In-Person learning on Monday, October 5, 2020.

The elementary is not impacted and will continue with In-Person learning as usual.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID please call OCHD at 719-468-8083.
