2022 Swink FFA Hired Hand Auction Fetches High Bids

The Swink community came out for the FFA program's hired hand auction. Each student provides eight hours of labor for the winning bidder.

Pulled pork sandwiches and sides were provided by Almost Home Cooking and Auctioneer Derek Reeves donated his services and even spent several bills on a hired hand.

Program Director Hannah Lenz even stepped up to be auctioned. The evening's highest winning bid was placed on Clay Roweth and was the only bid to exceed $1,000. The auction itself was wonderful entertainment as several bidders from area businesses shared lots of laughter as they drove the bids up. Numerous local car salesmen bid against each other, winning many lots. Surely the FFA students will detail a lot of trucks over the next couple months.

In closing, Lenz gave special thanks to the three high bidders of the night, Dwight Proctor, Steir Fuel and Oil, and La Junta Valley Oil.

Overall the fundraiser was a great success for Swink's young FFA program.
