March 21, 1933 – April 14, 2022
Della Mae Merwin, 89 years old, of Rocky Ford, Colorado went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2022, peacefully at her home. She was born on March 21, 1933, in Thurston County, Nebraska to Robert E. and Lizzie B. Ferguson.
Della was married to Roger Merwin on April, 6, 2000. They enjoyed their travels together, especially to see her daughter, Debbie Peiffer and her children in the Denver area. Della was an avid reader and enjoyed working with her computer.
She graduated from high school. Then worked in motels and was a secretary for several businesses. She did the church books and sent out birthday cards for the church family.
She was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God in La Junta, Colorado.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Merwin of Rocky Ford home; daughter, Debbie Peiffer of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, John Peiffer of Northglenn, Colorado, Jason Peiffer of Denver, Kenneth Peiffer of Denver, and Brandi Peiffer of Broomfield, Colorado; great-grandson, Daimian Peiffer. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Donald Peiffer in 2018.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God, 2105 Adams Ave. in La Junta, Colorado, with Pastor James Crandall officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
