Santa Fe Trail Association Bent’s Fort Chapter Names Larry Bourne President

A message from Larry Bourne,

"I am humbled that the members of the Bent’s Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Association voted me in as their President.  As a member that helped put together the very successful Bicentennial Symposium for the Santa Fe Trail association last September 2021, I am looking forward to leading our chapter in continuing to preserve one of most historical trails in our nation. I am so blessed to be in this chapter."

Bio;

Larry Bourne: Born 25 October 1949 in La Junta, Colorado.
Graduated from Las Animas High School 1967.
U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1997 achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Earned a AA degree in mid management for City College of Chicago in 1996.
Earned a BS degree in computer information systems from Columbia College in 2001.
Moved back to Las Animas in 2007.
Managed the Bent County Las Animas Cemetery for 7 years.
Managed the Boggsville Historical site for 6 years.
President of the Bent County Historical Society for 2 years.
Member of the Bent’s Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail for 7 years, and the current President as of May 2022.
Married to Linda since 3 July 2015.
