Description: The La Junta Tarantula Fest Family Fun Bike Ride... Sponsored by Clean Valley Recycling... Both rides begin at 8:30am at La Junta Senior Center.
La Junta Tarantula Fest Free-Family-Rides!
🕷 See - La Junta’s downtown, neighborhoods (old & new), the city park, Otero College, the wild Otero County southlands and more!
🕷 8:30 Start at LJ Senior Center (2nd street and Raton Ave) 8:00 sign up.
🕷 4-Mile Short-Ride goes through downtown, up and around Otero College. This leg then heads back downhill to the senior center.
🕷 8-Mile Long-Ride continues South and then dives west to Anderson Arroyo, climbs east up Hospital Hill and back to the LJ Senior Center.
🕷 Fill Water Bottles, use Restrooms, Sign Standard Waiver at the senior center & leave around 8:30 to be back for the parade around 10:00.
🕷 Wear a Helmet! on either ride and stay off cellphones during the ride.
🕷 Wear a Jacket? Morning weather could be cool to quite chilly!
🕷 Sag-Wagons & Mechanics Follow us but carry spare tubes (Goat Heads!)
🕷 Free Family Ride but donations help support this & future Tarantula rides.
🕷 Rental Bicycles Available from city of La Junta and some will be nearby!
