Arkansas Valley Hospice Patient Care Coordinator Amber Covington Now Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN)

La Junta, CO – Arkansas Valley Hospice recognizes Patient Care Coordinator Amber Covington, RN, as Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN).

Amber Covington, RN, CHPN Patient Care Coordinator at Arkansas Valley Hospice completed the Certified Hospice and Palliative (CHPN) examination in September of 2022. To be eligible for the CHPN examination, an applicant must hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the United States, and must have hospice and palliative nursing practice of 500 hours in the most recent 12 months or 1,000 hours in the most recent 24 months prior to applying for the examination. The certification is designed for experienced hospice and palliative nurses. The certification holds a four-year term and requires a one-time fee. Recertification is required after four years.
