Dirt Lovers 12U Softball Finishes 2nd in Dodge City Tournament!

Dirt Lovers Softball 12U finished in second place at the Miss Kitty Tournament played on a very rainy weekend at Legends Park in Dodge City, Kansas.

Dirt Lovers started the tournament on Saturday defeating Quicksilver 7-5 and Sodbusters 11-7, ending the day as second seeded team.

Bracket play began early on Sunday and Dirt Lovers weathered the drizzle and heavy rain as they played three back-to-back games to get to the championship. Dirt Lovers rocked Sodbusters with a 10-4 win, with a ten minute break they played great ball for a nail biting game against the Vipers, taking the win 7-4.

Dirt Lovers went into the Championship against Hays Sparks. Dirt Lovers started strong at-bat but couldn’t sneak pass the Sparks defense and finished in 2nd place. The Dirt Lovers tournament sponsor was Kolomitz & Co.

Dirt Lovers Softball is a registered non-profit organization founded in 2021. The travel team spent 2 year traveling and competing in 10u. This is Dirt Lovers first year as a 12u team. Dirt Lovers Softball is coached by head coach Wayne Gumke and assistants Manuel Soto and Amy Grajeda.
