Kiowa County Stolen Vehicle Chase Ends in Lamar on Foot

On May 5, 2023 at approximately 1602 hours, a Kiowa County Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 287 near milepost 110.

The vehicle fled southbound on Highway 287 at speeds upwards of 130mph. The vehicle continued into Prowers County at high speeds where the suspect led multiple law enforcement agencies on a pursuit down multiple county roads. The vehicle pursuit ended near Highway 50 and Anderson Street in Lamar. The suspect then fled on foot down the highway throughout traffic and was safely apprehended.

Upon investigation the vehicle was found to be stolen out Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The suspect had two active felony warrants and was found to be in possession of multiple controlled substances.
