...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Colorado, including the following areas, Crowley County, Eastern Kiowa County, Eastern Las Animas County, La Junta Vicinity/Otero County, Lamar Vicinity/Prowers County, Las Animas Vicinity/Bent County, Pueblo Vicinity/Pueblo County Below 6300 Feet, Trinidad Vicinity/Western Las Animas County Below 7500 Feet, Walsenburg Vicinity/Upper Huerfano River Basin Below 7500 Feet and Western Kiowa County.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms may cause flash flooding due to antecedent soil moisture from recent rainfall. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
