Otero Lady Rattlers' Basketball Players, Gia Bradley and Katia Nekic, Enjoy Successful Summers

LA JUNTA — The Otero Lady Rattlers basketball team is proud to announce the outstanding summer performances of two of its players, Gia Bradley and Katia Nekic. Both players have garnered attention for their remarkable achievements during the off-season, showcasing their dedication and talent.

As returning All-Region IX players from last season's impressive 21-5 team, Bradley and Nekic have proven themselves to be exceptional athletes. Bradley recently captivated the crowd at the NJCAA Top 40 All-Star Game, held in Atlanta, GA on July 22-23. In her first game, Bradley displayed her skills by scoring an impressive 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Not only did Bradley excel in the game, but she also emerged victorious in the 3-point contest. Demonstrating her abilities, she dominated each of the three rounds, winning each round handily. Last season, Bradley maintained an average of 11.5 points per game, with an impressive 36% shooting accuracy from 3-point range.

Additionally, Nekic, a talented player hailing from Croatia, was recently selected to represent her country on the Croatian U20 National Team. The team is scheduled to commence their games on Friday, July 28 at 6:30 a.m. MT. Fans can also catch Nekic and her teammates in action on July 30 and August 2.

The Lady Rattlers also placed six players on the NJCAA Academic All-American Teams. First Team All-American requires a GPA of 4.0. Second Team requires a GPA of 3.80-3.99. Third team requires GPA of 3.6-3.79.

First Team - Jaycie Casebolt

Second Team - Anna Cera, Katia Nekic, Alexa Peraza, Nyabeth Tuom

Third Team - Hedda Koehne

The Lady Rattlers are thrilled to witness the success of Bradley and Nekic during their summer endeavors. Their exceptional performances and well-deserved achievements serve as a testament to their dedication and the quality of athletes that comprise the Lady Rattlers basketball program.
