Rocky Ford Museum at the Arkansas Valley Fair What Is It Contest Winners
 
During this year's fair, we had 21 adults participate in the "What Is It" contest and 55 children (12 and younger) participate in the newly added guess the candy in the jar contest.
 
The answers to our artifacts are:
  1. Cork Press. Used in pharmaceutical bottles 
  2. Darning Bulb. Used to repair holes in socks.
  3. Accordion Rods.  For making dresses and decorative pleats.
  4. Golf Stroke Counter. It is used to keep track of your golf strokes.
  5. G.W. Swink's Adobe House. Sat on the southside of the Arkansas River at the rock crossing.  The first structure in this area.
  6. Mammoth Tooth.
  7. Arkansas River Frying Pan Project Souvenir. Used to raise money for the water shed program.
  8. Dog Stone.  Used for hobbling horses and dogs.
  9. Candle Snuffer. To extinguish the flame and trim the wick.
  10. James Garfield.. The 20th President of the United States.

The museum hours are Tuesday-Friday 1pm-5pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
