Bent County Sheriff September 2023 Incident Report

9/1/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 183 and Mile Marker 1 for a one vehicle accident. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the driver had a valid warrant for their arrest. The individual was taken into custody, transported to the Bent County Jail and issued a citation by Colorado State Patrol.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Moore for a civil problem. Deputies advised the party to follow the court order.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 400 for a suspicious person. Deputies advised the party to stay out of the middle of the highway.

Deputies responded to 8th street in Las Animas for a reckless driver. Deputies spoke with the driver and advised them to slow down.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a dog at large. Deputies were able to locate the dog and take him to the pound

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street for the report of a public service. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard and Bent Avenue for the report of a reckless driver. After searching the area, deputies were not able to locate the driver.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for the report of a burglar alarm. After further investigation, deputies determined that everything was okay.

9/2/2023

Deputies responded to the 1,500 block of Ambassador Thompson for a call of a suspicious person. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue for a report of harassment. Deputies arrived on scene and issued a warning to all involved parties. 

Deputies received a call in regards to an animal attack. Deputies contacted the reporting party and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Elm Avenue for a report of a gas leak. Deputies arrived on scene and contacted Black Hills Energy, who took over the investigation. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of East Park Avenue for the report of a welfare check. Deputies assisted EMS with the individual.

9/3/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 391 for a report of cattle on the highway. Deputies arrived on scene and the cattle were returned to the owner. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of 5th street for a civil problem. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 7,000 block of Highway 50 for a juvenile problem. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Avenue for an animal call. Deputies arrived on scene and were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Vigil Avenue for a civil problem. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Sixth street in Las Animas for an unwanted person. Deputies arrived and checked the area but were unable to locate the party. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Moore for fireworks. Deputies arrived and spoke to parties about lighting fireworks. Deputies did not observe any violations so a warning was given. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of West Central Ave in Hasty for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies arrived and checked the area. Deputies were unable to locate any vehicles in the area. 

9/4/2023

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 10th Street in Las Animas for a suspicious person. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate anyone in the area. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road GG.5 for a party wishing to turn over firearms. Deputies arrived and took possession of one firearm. Deputies then cleared the scene

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Sixth Street in Las Animas for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived and found the alarm was set off by error. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Avenue for a burglar alarm. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Poplar Avenue for a 911 misdial. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for a report of theft. The reporting party chose to not press charges. The individual was trespassed from the property. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for a burglar alarm. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 1,100 block of St. Vrain Avenue for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies arrived on scene and were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th street for a call of an unwanted party. Deputies arrived on scene and were unable to locate the individual. 

Deputies spoke to a party in regards to a possible scam. Deputies were unable to locate any possible suspects. 

Deputies responded to the 10,000 block of Highway 50 for suspicious activity. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies were advised of a party located at 10950 Highway 50, who had active warrants for their arrest. Deputies arrived on scene and placed the party into custody. The individual was transported to the Bent County Jail. 

9/5/2023

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Carson Avenue for a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all involved parties. Deputies determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 2nd street for a vehicle lockout. Deputies arrived on scene and were able to successfully unlock the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Carson avenue for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the intersection of 5th street and Poplar Avenue for a two vehicle accident. Deputies arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. The drivers exchanged information and both were given a warning. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent for a two vehicle accident. Deputies arrived on scene and an individual was transported to the hospital. Deputies issued a citation to the other driver. 

9/6/2023

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ash Avenue in Las Animas for a suspicious person. Deputies arrived and located the party. Deputies served the party with a restraining order and had the party leave the area.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 3rd street for a medical assist. Deputies helped lift the party.

Deputies responded to the 400 of Locust Avenue for a vehicle lockout. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and County Road 15 for a dangerous driver. Deputies were able to make contact with the driver and advised them to obey the posted speed limit.

Deputies responded to County road 12.5 and EE for a misdial. Deputies found the party and everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to 100 block of Vigil for a fire alarm. Deputies were stood down due to a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Bent for three dogs at large. Deputies were unable to find the dogs.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of Highway 50 for a Civil problem. Deputies advised one party they were no longer welcome on the grounds.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 415 for the report of a possible DUI. There were no vehicles in or around the area when deputies arrived on scene.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th Street for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of McAfee Avenue for the report of harassment. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

9/7/2023

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 6th Street for a medical assist. Deputies helped load the party.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of 3rd Street for a dog at large. Owners were putting dogs in the house as deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to Bent avenue and 2nd street for a suspicious person. Deputies advised the party not to walk on the highway.

Deputies completed a callback about a possible protection order violation. Deputies spoke with the party and explained what was a violation and what was not.

Deputies responded to the 5000 block of Highway 50 for a medical assist. Deputies helped load the party.

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG.5 for a report of threats. Deputies spoke with the reporting party who did not want to press charges. Deputies informed the reporting party of their options.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 2nd St. for a report of threats. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th street for a call of suspicious activity. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

9/8/2023

Deputies responded to the area of 3rd street and Maple Avenue for a call of a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and determined it was a verbal argument. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County Road 15 for a civil problem. Deputies arrived on scene and determined an individual needed medical attention. The individual was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Avenue for a fire alarm. Deputies found there to be no fire.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Elm Avenue for an animal attack. Parties agreed to handle it civilly before deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and County road 7.5 for debris in the road. Deputies cleared the road.

Deputies responded to Highway 101 and mile marker 17 for a welfare check. Deputies found the party to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County road LL for an agency assist. Deputies helped the Colorado Humane Society with an investigation. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Avenue for the report of a vehicle fire. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered that the fire was put out prior to arrival.

Deputies responded to La Junta PD for an agency assist. Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a DUI investigation.

9/9/2023

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th street for a panic alarm. Deputies found everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road GG for a dog at large. The city pound does not take dogs outside of the city limits.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Stain Vrain for a possible assault. Deputies found that the party assaulted themselves. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 50 and mile marker 382 for a reckless driver. Deputies advise drivers to stay inside their lane.

Deputies responded to 700 Locust avenue for a civil problem. Deputies advised the party that it was a family problem.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Locust for a burglar alarm. Deputies found everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 395 for an agency assist. Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road GG.5 for a dog at large. Deputies advised the party that the city pound will not take dogs outside of city limits.

Deputies responded to 5th street and Locust avenue for a burglary. Deputies cleared the building.

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County Road 15 for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 17,000 block of Highway 50 for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and everything was okay.

Deputies responded to North Star Lane for a medical assist. Deputies helped load the party.

9/10/2023

Deputies received a report of a violation of protection order. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Moore in Las Animas for a domestic issue. Deputies arrived on scene and found it to be a verbal argument. The male party agreed to leave the area. 

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 6th Street for a report of a hit and run. Deputies were not able to locate any damaged property. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bent Avenue for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies provided the individual with a ride to Lamar, CO. 

Deputies responded to 8th Street and Carson Avenue to assist an individual whose vehicle stalled in the roadway. Deputies were able to get the vehicle moved.

Deputies responded to Loaf N Jug for a report of an intoxicated individual. The Bent County Ambulance Service transported the individual to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. 

9/11/2023

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas for a stolen vehicle. Deputies found it to be a civil issue. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Highway 196 for a structure fire. Deputies arrived and found there was no structure fire. Deputies cleared the scene. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine for an unwanted party. Deputies arrived and found it to be a civil issue. Parties separated and deputies cleared the scene. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road GG.5 in Las Animas for a vin inspection. Deputies arrived and checked the vehicle. 

Deputies called a party about fraud. The party reported activity to their bank and just wanted to make the office aware of the information. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Ave for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything was okay.

9/12/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and County Road 8.25 for an individual who appeared to be having a mental episode. The Bent County Ambulance Service transported the individual to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of Highway 50 for a suspicious party. Deputies contacted the male party and found nothing illegal occurring. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Locust for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived and found it to be set off by error. 

Deputies responded to the 32000 block of County road 15 in Las Animas for a disturbance. Deputies arrived and found nothing illegal happening. Deputies provided a ride to one party.

Deputies received a call to assist with a possible harassment call at the 300 block of Grove Avenue. Deputies spoke with the individuals involved and found there to be a misunderstanding.  

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and MM 404 for a vehicle accident. Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol. The party was transported by ambulance.  

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Maple for harassment. Deputies spoke to the reporting party and they advised they were going to seek a protection order. Deputies cleared the scene 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Carson Avenue for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies had the property added to the watch list. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Moore Street in Las Animas. Deputies arrived and reviewed the protection order and found no violation had taken place. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust Avenue for a report of a family issue. Deputies were able to provide a resolution to the problem. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG .5 for an ambulance call.  Deputies assisted with the patient.

Deputies were advised of a possible dog attack in the 500 block of Moore Avenue. Deputies spoke with the individual and found that everyone was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th Street for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies were not able to locate any activity in the area. 

Deputies responded to the Post Office in Las Animas, for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies found everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 10 block of east 6th Street for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies found that the individual had a medical issue. The Bent County Ambulance Service provided medical assistance to the individual. 

Deputies responded to the area of 9th Street and Carson Avenue for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies were not able to locate anyone in the area.

9/13/2023

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas for an ambulance call. Deputies arrived and assisted the ambulance. The party was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Maple in Las Animas for harassment. Deputies spoke to the reporting party and she advised that she would obtain a restraining order. 

Deputies received a call to the 900 block of 4th street in Las Animas for a dog call. Deputies were unable to respond. The reporting party was advised. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of 11th Street to assist probation with a warrant. Deputies arrived and assisted the probation department. Deputies cleared a short time later. 

9/14/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and Mile Marker 17 for a report of a vehicle slide off. Deputies assisted with traffic control until Colorado State Patrol arrived.

Deputies responded to the area of 6th St. and Lincoln Ave for a report of a suspicious party. Deputies were unable to locate the party.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Ave for a vehicle with a City of Las Animas tow tag. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and referred them to speak with the City.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 5th St. for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street for the report of a suspicious person. Deputies trespassed one male individual from the property.

9/15/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and County road 5 for a dog on the highway. Deputies were unable to find the dog.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Carson Avenue for a public service call. Deputies took control of medication and disposed of them.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th street for a burglary. Upon arrival, the party found the items that were missing. 

Deputies received a call back from Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center for a dog attack. Deputies attempted to contact the parties involved. 

Deputies were advised of a traffic complaint on Highway 50 heading east. Deputies patrolled the area and were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG.5 for a report of threats. Deputies spoke with the party and a summons was issued.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 6th Street for the report of a possible disturbance. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

9/16/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and County road 7 for livestock on the highway. Cows were pushed in by the owner before deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to Carson Avenue and 7th street for a suspicious person. The party left before deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County road 15 for a truck blocking the road. Deputies found the truck to be parked off the road not causing any blocking of the road.

Deputies made a call back to a party about harassment. Deputies advised the party that they need to make the complaint to the county in which the crime happened.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash avenue for a civil problem. Deputies advised the parties to follow the order of the court.

Deputies were stopped in the 600 block of Carson Avenue for a broken down vehicle. Deputies gave a ride to the party’s house.

Deputies responded to the 1300 block of County road HH for an accident. Upon arrival, deputies found the pickup fell off the hitch.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Avenue for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate anything suspicious.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 6th Street for the report of a welfare check. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

9/17/2023

Deputies responded to the intersection of 4th street and Moore Avenue for the report of a suspicious person. Deputies were unable to locate anyone suspicious.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 6th in Las Animas for a misdial. Deputies arrived and found the party was having an issue with their house phone and never called 911. 

Deputies spoke with an individual about a possible violation of protection order. Deputies found the claims to be unfounded at this time. 

Deputies were advised of a stray dog in the 10 block of East 5th Street. 

9/18/2023

Deputies responded to the Alta Convenience Store for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies were not able to locate anyone in the area.  

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Maple in Las Animas for a traffic problem. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to all parties. Nothing illegal was observed. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Carson in Las Animas for an issue at the courthouse. Deputies arrived and spoke to all the parties involved. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road GG.5 vin inspection. Deputies arrived and inspected the party's vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Street for suspicious activity. Deputies arrived and spoke to the party involved. 

Deputies responded to the 14000 block of County Road HH for a report of a burglar alarm. Deputies found everything to be okay. 

Deputies were advised of a vehicle partially parked in the roadway, in front of a residence in the 30000 block of County Road 15. 

Deputies responded to County Road JJ and County Road 24 to assist CSP. CSP issued a summons to the driver of the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th Street for a 911 misdial. Deputies were not able to contact anyone in the area. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Garfield Avenue in Las Animas for an animal attack. Deputies arrived and found the attack did not happen due to party shooting firearms at the animal. Deputies cleared the scene. 

9/19/2023

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of 9th Street in Las Animas. Deputies spoke to the parties and cleared the area. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove for fraud. Deputies investigating the incident.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road DD in Las Animas for a motorist assist. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted the party with getting their vehicle started.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Carson Avenue within Las Animas for a vehicle lock out. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted the parties with unlocking their vehicle. 

Deputies were advised of a traffic problem on Highway 50 at Mile Marker 391. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block Poplar Avenue to assist an individual who had fallen. Deputies assisted the individual to their feet. 

9/20/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 390 for a dog at large. Deputies advised the party that the city pound does not take dogs outside city limits.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Ave for public assistance. Deputies assisted the public.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of St. Clair street in Hasty for an animal call. Deputies were unable to make contact with the other party.

Deputies responded to the 400 block for a medical assist. The party refused medical treatment.

Deputies responded to 100 block of Moore for a civil standby. Deputies advised parties to leave due to being uncooperative with court order.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th street for an unwanted party. The party left before deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Moore street for a civil problem. Deputies advised the party to follow the court's order. 

Deputies responded to 5th street and Moore avenue for a suspicious person with a knife. Deputies contacted the person, and the party was just waving hawk feathers. 

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and Milepost 16 for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Avenue for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies made contact with one male individual and determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the intersection of County Road JJ and School Street in Hasty for the report of an in progress stolen vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and returned it to its rightful owner.

9/21/2023

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County road 10 for livestock out. The parties advised Deputies they would handle the problem.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grove Avenue for a suspicious person. The party fell off their bike and laid in the street. The party refused medical treatment.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Ash Avenue for an intoxicated person. Deputies were unable to find the person.

Deputies responded to County Road 40 and County Road H, in Kiowa County to secure a scene.

Deputies responded to the area of 5th and Poplar Ave for a report of a dog chasing a party. When deputies arrived, the dog was back home, and the deputies spoke with the owners.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Ave for a report of two parties pointing a laser at a camera. Deputies patrolled the area and were not able to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 5th St. for a welfare check. Deputies were unable to locate the party in the residence, but found out that the party was at a relative’s house.

9/22/2023

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 for the report of a structure fire. Deputies ensured everyone at the scene was safely evacuated. The fire was investigated by a State Investigator.

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and mile marker 15 for livestock on the Highway. Deputies pushed the cows back in.

Deputies received a call back about a cold assault. After talking with all parties, deputies determined no assault took place.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Ave for a report of a stolen vehicle. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and the vehicle was returned.

Deputies responded to the 31,000 block of County Road 15 for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the area of 5th and Poplar Ave, for a report of dog out. Deputies spoke with the dog owner and received a warning for the dog at large.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Maple Ave for a report of unwanted messages. Deputies spoke with the victims and they were referred to the courts.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent Avenue for the report of a disturbance. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 6th Street and Lincoln Avenue for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

9/23/2023

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County Road 10.75 for the report of a burglar alarm. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies respond to the 6000 block of County road KK to assist Colorado State Patrol. CSP issued a summons. 

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Highway 50 for a welfare check. Deputies advised the party to contact their mom.

Deputies talked to a party over the phone about a civil problem. Deputies advised the party it was not a crime and advised them to speak with the courts on Monday.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of St Clair in Hasty for an animal call. Deputies were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Ash Avenue for a protection order. Deputies were unable to make contact with the reporting party..

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil  for a Dog at large.  Deputies found a dog in the owner's house. The owner was advised to keep the dog in their yard.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Cottonwood Avenue for an animal attack. Deputies found the dog had never bitten anyone. The dog was returned to the owner.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for a burglar alarm. Deputies found it to be set off by staff.

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County road 10.25 for a burglar alarm. Deputies found it to be a false alarm.

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and mile marker 15 for livestock on the highway. The owners were able to get the cow back in before deputies arrived.

9/24/2023

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Locust Avenue for the report of damaged property. Deputies then discovered that there were two other properties located at the 400 block of St Vrain Avenue and the 500 block of 5th Street that also had damaged property. Deputies located one male suspect and transported him to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies were advised of an individual walking on 4th Street. Deputies did not make contact with anyone in the area. 

Deputies were advised of suspicious activity occurring in the 500 block of Moore Avenue. Deputies added the property to the property watch list. 

Deputies responded to Dollar General for a vehicle lockout. 

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Columbine Place for a report of a fight in progress. Deputies found the incident to be a family dispute and the individuals agreed to separate for the day. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Avenue for a report of damaged property. Deputies found that a mirror had been broken. The reporting individual advised they needed a report due to the being a work vehicle. 

Deputies were advised of dogs at large in the 900 block of Locust Avenue. 

Deputies were advised of a neighbour dispute in the 14000 block of County Road HH. Deputies spoke with one of the individuals involved and provided the requested information.

Deputies were advised of a possible theft of bicycles from the 1000 block of Elm Avenue. Deputies attempted to contact the reporting individual but were not able to do so. 

Deputies were advised of an incident between a family dog and child. Deputies spoke with the family about the incident and found that the child was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of East 4th Street, in Hasty, CO for a report of a family disturbance. Deputies spoke to the involved individuals and everyone agreed to separate.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of fourth street in Las Animas for trespassing. Deputies arrived on scene and found that it was a civil issue. 

Deputies were notified of a reckless driver on Hwy 50 westbound near MM 408. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. Colorado State Patrol had conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Ave for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and it was determined that no suspicious activity took place.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Ave for a report of a dog at large. Deputies were able to secure the dog and the dog was taken to the pound.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of 4th St. for a report of a dog attack. Deputies spoke with the party and determined there was no dog attack.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Bent Ave for a vehicle unlock. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm for suspicious activity. Deputies arrived and found a knife stuck into a tree. Deputies recovered the knife and cleared the scene. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Carson in Las Animas to assist another agency. Deputies arrived and gave a message to one party. Deputies cleared the scene a short time later.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Elm for a suspicious person. Deputies arrived and checked the area for anyone but were unable to locate any parties in the area. 

Deputies responded to 333 Grand Avenue for a suspicious person. Deputies arrived and checked the area but were unable to locate anyone in the area. 

Deputies spoke with an individual, via phone, about a possible phone scam. Deputies advised the individual on how to handle the situation. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th street to assist the Colorado Human Society. 

Deputies responded to Fort Lyon to assist staff with an individual having a mental episode. The individual was transported to AVRMC.

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG.5 for a felony warrant. Deputies took the party into custody.

Deputies responded to the 27,000 block of County Road LL for an agency assist. Deputies assisted the Humane Society on checking the welfare of animals. Deputies and the Humane Society provided water for the animals.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Ave for a 911 misdial. Deputies located the party and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to Loaf n Jug for a report of a panic alarm. Deputies found it to be a false alarm. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 3rd Street for a welfare check. Deputies found everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Grand Ave for a report of suicidal subject. Deputies assisted medical personnel.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Maple for trespassing. Deputies arrived and checked a vacant house but did not locate anyone on the property. Deputies cleared the area. 

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County road 10.75 for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived and found the alarm was set off by error. Deputies cleared the area. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th street for a medical call. Deputies arrived and assisted the ambulance crew. The party was transported to the hospital.

Deputies responded to the area of 6th and Carson for a dog at large. Deputies were unable to locate any dogs in the area.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Vine Ave for a report of a dog at large. Deputies were unable to catch the dog, but the dog returned home, and deputies will be speaking with the owners.

Deputies responded to the 1,000 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd for an unresponsive female. Deputies were able to get the female responsive and assisted EMS personnel.

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG.5 for a vin inspection. Deputies completed the vin inspection.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of N Bent Ave for a report of a dog at large. Deputies were able to locate the owner and returned the dog.

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County Road 15 for a report of a disturbance. Deputies arrived and determined there was no disturbance.

Deputies were at the 30,000 block of County Road 15, when they were notified that an ambulance was needed. Deputies had dispatched an ambulance to their location.

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Highway 50 for shots fired. Deputies arrived and found one party involved. Deputies took the party into custody and transported him to the Bent County Jail

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of County road 10.5 for a family disturbance. Deputies arrived and spoke to all parties involved. Deputies found no criminal activity and cleared the scene.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Bent avenue for damage to property. Deputies took statements for the reporting party.

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and mile marker 15 for a motor assist. Deputies helped take tires to the service station.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 at mile marker 394 to assist CSP on a traffic stop.

Deputies responded to the dog pound for a misdail. Deputies found no one in the area.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Grand avenue for a welfare check. Deputies found the party to be okay. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and County road 8.25 for suspicious activity. Deputies advised the parties to stay on the highway when walking.

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Highway 50 for a medical assist. Deputies helped load the party.

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Highway 50 for a family problem. Both parties agreed to part ways for a while. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil Avenue for a civil problem. Deputies advised the party no crime had been committed and they needed to speak with the courts.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Moore street for a dog at large. Dog was returned to the owner before deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to 5th street and Cottonwood for lost property. Deputies returned the property to the owner.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 6th street for a civil problem. Deputies advised the party to contact the court since no crime was committed.

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Highway 50 for a medical assist. Deputies helped load the party.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Locust avenue for a welfare check. Deputies determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th street for an unwanted party. Deputies advised the party they were not welcome and not to come back.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 390 for the report of an agency assist. Deputies assisted the other agency.

Deputies responded to Hwy 50 and County Road 21 for a traffic complaint. Deputies located the vehicle and the driver was given a warning.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Cottonwood Ave for a report of a parking violation. Deputies spoke with the driver of the vehicle, and they moved the vehicle.

Deputies completed a call back to a party about a potential violation of a protection order. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and it was determined that there was no violation.

Deputies were handed counterfeit bills that had been passed in Las Animas. Deputies secured the items.

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of County Road GG.5 for a report of a suicidal party. Deputies spoke with the party and mental health, who helped the party.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Moore Ave for a report of animal abuse. Deputies located the dogs and determined no abuse had taken place.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th St. for a report of an unwanted party. Deputies advised the party he could not be loitering outside the business.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of North Bent Ave for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies spoke with the party and told him not to be panhandling outside the store.

Deputies were notified of a juvenile problem at the 30,000 block of County Road 10. Deputies spoke with the parents over the phone.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street for the report of possible trespassing. Deputies were unable to locate anyone.
